Far Islands is a tale of four neighbouring islands locked in fierce battles for supremacy and control.

Leonel Island, the largest, has been thrown into chaos after the death of its last native ruler, Agoda. Seizing the moment, Shamuan, the ruthless ruler of Derckord Island, has declared Leonel under his control. However, the people of Leonel defy him, rallying behind Parado, the rightful heir and leader of the rebellion against Shamuan

Meanwhile, on Shelious Island, the sly commander Lombadi manipulates King Dirous, effectively ruling the island through his cunning schemes. Shelious becomes a dangerous player in this power struggle.

Amidst this turmoill, Shankol, the calm and wise leader of Green Heaven—the only democratic island—strives to keep his island safe. Despite his best efforts to stay out of the conflict, he is drawn in to battles to protect his people's interests.

This saga pits courage against cruelty, cunning against composure. The islands’ intertwined pasts constantly shift the tides of war, with alliances and enemies changing as quickly as the wind. In this ever-changing battle, only the strongest will prevail.

The Game

Far Islands is a thrilling board game for four players, similar to chess but with exciting twists. It’s a turn-based game, so no need for dice. Your goal is to defeat all your opponents and become the ultimate winner.

Instead of chess’s 64 squares and 16 pieces, you have 81 zones and control just 7 ships. These ships can be relaunched if you have enough gold. Gold, research papers, and weapons add layers of strategy to this game.

An advanced navigation system alerts you to unpredictable events like new gold production and storms that can wreck your ships. This makes Far Islands a game of constant surprises and strategic decisions.

How to Play ?

Defeat all your opponents and become the ultimate winner.

Players can be defeated if:

  • Their cruiser ship is destroyed.
  • They no longer control any islands.
  • They miss their turn twice during the game.

Use your navy of 7 ships and available weapons to defeat your opponents. The ships are:

  • Cruiser (1) - Cannot be relaunched
  • Destroyer (1) - Launching/ Relaunching cost 300 gold
  • Submarine (1) - Launching/ Relaunching cost 100 gold
  • Corvettes (4) - Launching/ Relaunching cost 100 gold

Each type of ship moves differently on the board, similar to chess pieces.

Gold is crucial for:

  • Buying weapons.
  • Relaunching destroyed ships.
  • Taking advantage of strategic launch locations (zones where amounts are written on the board).

The cost of weapons decreases with the number of research papers you have.

There are 24 weapons in 4 categories:

  • Missiles (12)
  • Pirate Attack (4)
  • Jammer (4)
  • Defence (4)

Each weapon can only be used by a specific type of ship. Details about which ship can use it, the target area, and the impact are provided on each weapon card.

The command base is essential for defending your island control. If an opponent’s ship lands on your command base, control of that island passes to them. However:

  • The command base can only be captured if it's empty.
  • Ships on the command base cannot be attacked by regular ship moves.
  • Weapons and storms can still impact ships on the command base.
  • The command base is a free launching zone; you can launch any ship here by paying the standard launch cost, unlike premium zones which require additional payment.

There are different game modes. These modes have different starting set ups. Other rules are same except some minor changes. Please go through the detailed tutorials after you download the game to understand them.

Good luck and may the best strategist win!
